2 Quick Google Chrome Tips

I hope that you've at least tried out the Google Chrome web browser.  I am a Googlephile, so I use Chrome at work, at home, on my Chromebook, and on my smartphone.  Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of Chrome:

Printing from Chrome

  • When you print from Chrome, it may default to "Save", which means your page won't actually print!  You need to click "Change", and then select the printer you want to use.  If you don't see the printer you want, close the window and double-check the installed printers on your computer.  Install the right printer, if necessary, then reopen the page and print.

Chrome is not just a browser, or a way to view the internet.  It can also run apps, extensions, and themes.
    • A Chrome App is a program that runs on the web, similar to a website.  However, you can install Chrome Apps so that you can easily access them and connect them to your account.
    • A Chrome Extension is a web app that runs alongside of Chrome so that it give you more options or tools as you work online.  For example, I use a note-taking extension to collect text and links while I browse and research.  An extension extends Chrome and makes it more useful.
    • A Chrome Theme modifies the way that Chrome looks, similar to choosing a wallpaper or color scheme on your computer.  Themes are just for fun so check them out and install one that you like!
To access these apps, extensions, and themes, visit the Chrome webstore at chrome.google.com/webstore.
